Founded in 1866, in the small Victorian township of Great Western, Best’s Wines is one of Australia’s oldest and continuously family owned and operated wineries.
The Grampians is not the first place that comes to mind when you think of pinot noir, but Best’s have in their nursery block what are thought to be the oldest pinot noir vines in the world!
The fruit for this wine comes from 1980 and 1987 Pinot Noir plantings in the Concongella vineyards, at Best’s Great Western and the 1997 plantings at the elevated vineyard at Rhymney. It’s Medium bodied, supple and packed with dark cherry, savoury herb and earthy spice notes.
